Was India's Slavery Your Fault? — The Mysterious Movement of Karma

A brother asked — "Hitesh bhai, if you had not played that tantric role in that life — then Mohammed Ghazni would not have come. Mohammed Ghori would not have come. India would not have been enslaved. So does that mean you are responsible for India's slavery?"

This was one brother's question. But within it also lived the anger, the curiosity, and a deep restlessness of many other brothers and sisters.

And the answer to this question — if understood carefully — not only unravels the puzzle of history, but also makes clear the reason behind every obstacle and every struggle in one's own life.

Can One Person's Mistake Enslave an Entire Nation?

Think about this for a moment — when Mohammed Ghazni came to loot the Somnath temple, did he come alone? If he came with an army of ten thousand soldiers — then each of those ten thousand soldiers had their own story. Each had their own accounts to settle. Each carried their own resentments, their own pain, their own old debts.

And on the other side — those who lived on this land and committed treachery also had their own individual stories. Someone carried an old humiliation. Someone had an old grievance against this land, its people, or a certain deity.

So the enslavement of India's land was not the result of one person's one mistake in one lifetime. It was the result of thousands of souls accumulating accounts over countless births.

The land that is the birthplace of God, from which the entire world has received wisdom — could that land be weakened by one single person's one single mistake? No.

How Does Karmic Debt Accumulate — Understand From the Beginning

No great conflict, no deep enmity — is built suddenly. It grows slowly, across lifetimes.

It begins with — a single thought. Just one negative thought. Someone crossed your path and the mind said — "Look at what filthy things they're doing." With that one thought, a ball of negative energy reached that soul. Nothing happened physically. Not even a word was spoken. But at the level of the soul, an account had begun.

And every action has a reaction — but with interest. The negativity sent returns with interest. Gradually those two souls keep sending negativity to each other. In one lifetime there is an argument. In the next, a physical altercation. In the third, a murder. And when accounts from many lifetimes pile up — it becomes a multi-birth enmity.

Like the spokes of a wheel. Sometimes you are on top, sometimes they are. Sometimes you strike, sometimes they do. This cycle keeps turning until one of them resolves to break it.

The Older the Soul — The More the Accounts

If there are an enormous number of problems in your life — that is not misfortune. That is a sign that you are a very old soul.

One who has taken more births has received more from others and caused more pain to others. Their accounts are greater. And that is why more souls come into their life — to collect what is owed.

And one who is newly arrived — who has taken fewer births — their accounts are fewer. That is why their life appears easier.

But think about this — greater experience, a longer journey, greater opportunity for service — is that not something significant? Yes, the accounts are more. But the power and opportunity to settle them are also greater.

Service Is the Means to Settle Accounts — Not Ego

Here is a very important point that is often missed.

When we perform service — build a temple, share knowledge, help someone — a feeling gradually creeps in: "Look at what I have done. I did this. I did that. What a great thing I have accomplished." This is ego.

But the truth is — the service we perform is not new service. It is an opportunity to settle our old accounts. The souls we once caused pain to — today, by serving them, we are repaying our debt. The land, nature, the birds and animals we once harmed — today, by serving them, we are returning what we owe.

So the temple that was built, the knowledge that was spread, the sacrifice that was made — why carry the ego of "I did it"? God made us an instrument — God got it done. We were merely the medium.

When service is performed with the sense of being an instrument — the debt clears quickly. When service is performed with ego — new debt is added.

The Victim Mentality — The Biggest Trap

"Why does this only happen to me? I haven't done anything. Still, my life is full of troubles."

This mindset causes the greatest harm.

Because when we see ourselves as a victim — we stop self-introspection. We spend our energy finding the other's fault. And the opportunity to settle accounts — is lost.

Think about it — the brothers who say "you are responsible for enslaving India" — within them also lives that same love for India, that same patriotism. But this anger pulls them backward.

And the truth is — whoever is so enraged in defence of India has also served India in some life. In one birth they were a soldier, in another a revolutionary, in another a servant of the divine. And perhaps in some birth a mistake also occurred — which requires the courage to accept.

The Soul's Journey — Mistakes Too, and Corrections Too

The soul that comes to this earth for the first time — comes complete. Full of fortune, rich in relationships, brimming with energy. It does not sacrifice anyone. It does not destroy anyone's home.

But birth after birth, disappointments arrive. Something is taken away. Someone betrays. Gradually, in one lifetime, the light within the soul begins to dim — and it chooses the path of darkness.

Does that mean the soul is evil? No. It too once came from Brahmalok — pure, abundant, joyful. Somewhere it lost its way.

And when the path is lost — mistakes happen. And when mistakes happen, accounts are made. And when accounts are made, they must be settled — for lifetimes.

This is the mysterious movement of karma. It is not punishment. It is justice. And this justice is so profound that no single human being can fully comprehend it.

So What Should You Do Now?

Do not peer into another's journey. Look within yourself. Ask — for the obstacles in my life, the struggles, the suffering — could I have done something similar somewhere? Very possibly — yes.

And when that acceptance comes — ask God. Say — "Baba, give me that opportunity of service through which my accounts settle quickly. Lead me to those souls with whom I have accounts — so that I can give something to them."

God engages us in that very service through which our debts are cleared. That is why the work given to you — it is not new work. It is the most beautiful opportunity to settle your old accounts.

The lighter you become — the more peace you will find, the more joy, the more service will flow. And when you become completely light — when the time comes to go, even Dharmaraj will salute and say — "Go, you have no unfinished business here."

Was India's Slavery Your Fault? — The Mysterious Movement of Karma

Not one person — thousands of souls with thousands of accounts coming together make history. And every soul has its own karma, its own accounts, its own journey.

Do not point fingers by looking at another's journey. Look at your own. Settle your own accounts. Lighten your own burden.

Because the soul that keeps clearing its accounts — not only becomes lighter itself, but also frees the souls connected to it. And this is the deepest definition of world welfare.
